Guide to Upgrading Your Laptop Graphics Card

1. Check Your Laptop's Compatibility
The first thing you need to check - before you even go out to buy a new dedicated graphics card for your laptop - is to see if your existing laptop can support that new card. The best place for checking this information is your laptop manual. If you have trouble, you can also check with your laptop manufacturer.

Important note: In my experience, I have found that usually only Dell laptops can be easily upgraded. My of my readers or friends upgrading laptops from other manufacturers run into problems one way or another. So investing in a Dell gaming laptop might be a good idea to support future graphics cards upgrades.

2. Precise Steps For Upgrading Your Laptop Graphics Card
Now we will delve into the precise steps for upgrading your laptop graphics card. It's really quite a simple procedure.

Step 1: Remove the hinge. The first thing you need to do is to remove the hinge on the laptop. On newer laptops, you might not need to do this - you can just open a panel at the bottom side of the laptop.
Step 2: Detach the keyboard. The next step is to remove the keyboard - take out the screws beneath your laptop's hinge cover to do this. Sometimes, with newer laptops, you can just remove the keyboard using convenient latches on the chassis.
Step 3: Remove the display assembly. This can be a bit tricky. What you need to do is to remove the display assembly (i.e. the entire laptop screen) by removing screws on the back and bottom of your laptop. Carefully remove any video and Wi-Fi cables as well.
Step 4: Remove the laptop shell. Next thing to do is to remove the upper shell of your laptop. You should now see the graphics card you want to replace.
Step 5: Replace your graphics card. Now you should slowly and carefully insert your new laptop graphics card into the laptop's interior.
Step 6: Re-assemble everything back together. Once the new graphics card is in place, you just do the reverse steps as spelt out above and re-assemble the whole laptop together again.

3. Test The Newly Installed Graphics Card
The last thing to do is to fire up your laptop and check out the new graphics card! Make sure you download the latest graphics drivers and test it out on your favorite 3D game. If all went well, you should be enjoying crisp and smooth 3D graphics with your new laptop graphics card.

Conclusion
And that's all there is to it! I do hope this article has shown you the steps for installing a new graphics card into your laptop. It's quite a simple procedure, really. Just make sure you follow the instructions above and I'm sure you'll be enjoying your new graphics card before long. So until next time, good luck to you and happy computing!

Should I Buy a Laptop Or Desktop Computer?

Buying a new computer is a major purchase for most people, and the toss-up between a portable laptop or a powerful desktop is a sticking point for a lot of people.

I could discuss the pros and cons of each option, and then let you decide based on what option best fits your needs. But I'm not going to...

My recommendation would be to get a laptop.

Laptop technology has been evolving at a rapid pace over the last few years and the modern laptop has more than enough power for the average home user. While laptops will generally be less powerful and have less storage ability than a desktop of a similar price, the portability is such a huge plus that it's worth the sacrifice.

While desktop machines will generally have superior hardware, this isn't a major issue for most people. If you need more disk space you can always buy an external hard disk (that's if you ever need more storage space). The other aspects, such as a faster processor, and not going to be an issue unless you are doing very intensive tasks - surfing the net, sending email, etc are not intensive tasks. Just ensure the laptop has a reasonable amount of RAM - at least 2GB, at the time of writing this.

Wireless Internet means you can take the laptop on the deck in summer, or sit by the fire in winter (but not too close!). Or just sit on the couch and work while watching TV. The freedom offered is just brilliant.

I should add a caveat: this advice is for an average home user.

Inspiring Aspire

Inspiring Aspire
Give me an Acer's Aspire One mini laptop and most of my needs for computing on the move are met. The machine comes with 10.1in screen and the option to fit 2GB memory; much better than many notebook systems.

What makes this Aspire stand out from the other similar products are its keyboard and screen. The main difference between this model and earlier version is the 10.1in screen that makes its usage easy.

Executive looks of this Acer product distinguish it to the other lineup products. Smooth shape of edge of Acer product intentionally catches the eyes of the viewers and it provides one of the best friendly environments to its users. Users feel soft when they work out on it.

Aspire 's keyboard is also good - keys are well sized (less the function and cursor (arrow) keys). Aspire has a small touch pad with a single bar instead of two separate mouse buttons below the keyboard.

In addition to standard collection of ports, the Aspire One can connect wireless using 802.11b/g WI-Fi or Bluetooth. Some models can also be fitted with an optional internal 3G broadband modem for connectivity virtually anywhere, but our review unit did not have this. A button near the screen hinge turns Bluetooth on and off, while a slide switch at the front of the case does the same for Wi-Fi.

This inspiring performer with impressive battery life claim can meet anyone's requirement. It seems to be good to have in anyone/s travel bag.

Komputer Jinjing
